This month sees the first anniversary of FACTOR 5 signing up to the United Nations Global Compact. This is currently the most significant corporate social responsibility and sustainable development initiative on a worldwide scale.

The companies participating in this Compact have all declared their voluntary commitment to incorporating 10 universal principles into business activities, both in their own countries, as well as any international operations they may conduct around the world.

To ensure that its operations benefit both the economy and society in general on a global scale, FACTOR 5 focuses its efforts on 4 main areas: human rights, employment regulations, the environment and anti-corruption.

What does the United Nations Global Compact involve?

To ensure that all the operations conducted at FACTOR 5 are designed to benefit both the local economies and communities throughout the world, we focus our efforts on 4 main areas:

Human rights

Within our organization, diversity and inclusion are essential elements of our corporate vision. At  FACTOR 5 we have an equality plan in place, with the following clearly defined objectives:

  • We emphasize non-discrimination in our personnel selection processes; we offer equal opportunities for both men and women.
  • We promote a healthy balance between family and professional life.
  • We actively campaign against sexual harassment at work.
  • We provide equal opportunities for the internal promotion of our employees.
  • We offer ongoing training for all our employees. This also helps to promote non-discrimination and equal opportunities.
  • The job offers we present are always adjusted to the objective characteristics of the position to be filled.

Employment regulations

In terms of health & safety at work, at FACTOR 5 we have our own internal occupational risk prevention service. In this way we promote safe and healthy working conditions designed to prevent both injuries and long term health risks to our employees.

We comply with all legal requirements and other recommendations, eliminating dangers and reducing risks, consulting and ensuring the active participation of our employees in the continuous improvement of the system.

The environment

At FACTOR 5, we are fully committed to the protection of the environment, and hold the ISO 14001:2015 standard certificate. These official guidelines cover issues such as the prevention of contamination, reduction of consumption, recycling of waste and compliance with legal requirements along with continuous improvement to the environmental management system.

Anticorruption

We conduct relations with our clients, suppliers and those who exercise control over our activity in a frank and honest manner, complying with all the anti-corruption policies applicable to our business, such as the United Nations Global Compact, the Anti-Bribery Convention of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and other current anti-bribery Laws.

We also actively ensure Compliance with the policies of third parties, local laws and regulations and the practices and customs in each area we operate.
