Factor 5, a logistics operator founded in 2005 with 100% Spanish capital, has just inaugurated a new logistics center specialized in the exclusive luxury perfumery & cosmetics and pharmacy sectors, located in Alovera (Guadalajara) with a surface area of 40,000 m2 dedicated to these operations , with a 10,000m2 refrigerated module certified in GDPs for the distribution of medicines at controlled temperatures and two automated warehouse modules dedicated to perfumery and cosmetics operations.
Factor 5 has relied on Dematic to automate its logistics operations in this warehouse, implementing a storage and order preparation system based on Autostore technology, it is a modular automation that has a high-performance, easily scalable storage system, with very low energy consumption and high levels of security and availability, reducing the warehouse space required to store. Autostore will allow Factor 5 to guarantee scalability, efficiency, flexibility and agility to its customers.
The Dematic software will be in charge of controlling and managing the operation in its integration with Factor 5’s own Newlog Software. The AutoStore system will have 4,400 containers for stock and a fleet of 7 intelligent mobile robots in charge of collecting the containers with the requested items and deliver and/or return them at one of the 5 implemented workstations.
In these work stations, an operator will be in charge of collecting the products to complete the orders and send them to transport. The goods to person concept implies a drastic improvement in productivity, avoiding traveling long distances in the preparation of orders.
